Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 22, 2026

Parly (“Parly”, “we”, “us”) is operated by Teodor Costache, a sole proprietor based in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use Parly (the “Service”) at goparly.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Parly, you agree to this Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.

Parly is built around a simple principle: you are discovered by your skills, not your identity. We collect as little as we need, and our AI features are designed so that the assistant never receives your name, email, or identity.

1. Who can use Parly

Parly is intended for people aged 16 and older. If you are under 18, you may only use Parly with the permission of a parent or guardian. Parly is currently available to people in the Greater Boston area of Massachusetts, USA. It is not directed to individuals in the European Union or other regions outside the United States.

2. Information we collect

a) Account information (via Google sign-in)

Parly uses Google to sign you in. When you sign in, Google shares your name, email address, profile picture, and Google account identifier with us. We do not receive your Google password.

b) Profile information you provide

Your headline (a short self-description), and the roles and specializations you add to describe what you do.

c) Academic verification (optional)

If you choose to verify an academic affiliation, we collect your institutional (.edu) email address, your institution, your academic level, and an optional field of study. We email a one-time code to that address to confirm it.

d) Opportunities you post

The title, description, “next steps” (the contact details you choose to share with interested members), and any optional deadline, link, or institution filter.

e) Limited technical information

To operate and secure the Service, our hosting provider may process limited technical data such as your IP address and basic request logs. We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use analytics or advertising trackers.

What we do not collect: we do not collect payment information (Parly is free), and we do not store the messages you send to the in-app AI assistant (see Section 4).

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • create and operate your account;
  • match you to relevant collaboration opportunities, and let you post opportunities;
  • verify an academic affiliation if you choose to;
  • send you essential service emails (verification codes, opportunity-match notifications, and digests you’ve chosen);
  • send you occasional product updates or promotional emails, which you can opt out of at any time (essential service emails are required to use Parly);
  • maintain the security, integrity, and proper functioning of the Service;
  • comply with legal obligations.

4. AI features and how your data is processed

Parly uses Anthropic’s Claude models to power expertise validation, opportunity matching, and the in-app chat assistant.

  • When you add roles or specializations, or post an opportunity, that text is sent to Anthropic to validate it and to generate matches.
  • When you use the chat assistant, your messages are sent to Anthropic to generate a response. Parly does not store your chat conversations.
  • The chat assistant is given only roles and specializations — never your name, email, location, or identity. It is designed so that it cannot reveal who you are.
  • Under Anthropic’s commercial terms, your inputs are not used to train Anthropic’s models, and conversation content is not retained by Anthropic by default.

5. How we share information

We share information only as described here. We do not sell your personal information.

a) Service providers (subprocessors)

We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run Parly, who process your information only to provide their services to us:

  • Google — sign-in and authentication;
  • Anthropic — AI features (matching, validation, chat);
  • Resend and Amazon Web Services (SES) — sending email;
  • Railway — hosting and database storage.

b) Other members

When you post an opportunity, matched members can see the opportunity and your identity as the poster. When you are matched to an opportunity, the poster does not see your identity — only a count of how many members opted in to view their contact details. You reveal your identity to a poster only by choosing to reach out through the contact details they provided.

c) Anonymous promotion

We may share, display, or promote opportunities and other platform content publicly — including on social media and in marketing — in a form that does not reveal your identity or contact information.

d) Legal and safety

We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Parly, our users, or others.

6. How matching protects your privacy

Parly is designed so that being discovered never exposes your identity. Posters see only aggregate counts, never who matched. The AI assistant describes the pool of talent collectively (for example, “there are three guitarists”) and never identifies individuals or maps specializations to a specific person.

7. Cookies and Do Not Track

We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking cookies. Because we do not track you across other websites, we do not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals.

8. Data retention and deletion

We keep your information while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time by emailing us at info@goparly.com (and, where available, through your account settings). We will delete your data within 30 days of your request, except where we must retain limited information to comply with the law. Residual copies may persist in routine backups for a limited period before being overwritten.

9. Your choices and rights

You can:

  • access and update your profile information at any time in the app;
  • unsubscribe from promotional emails using the link in those emails or by contacting us;
  • request permanent deletion of your account and data (see Section 8).

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell personal information. To exercise any right, email info@goparly.com.

10. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including serving the Service over encrypted connections (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Children

Parly is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe someone under 16 has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Effective date” above, and for material changes we’ll take reasonable steps to notify you. Your continued use of Parly after a change means you accept the updated Policy.

13. Contact
